It all started with a phonecall between two friends. One of them owns a Landrover Garage Repair Shop, and had been to England several times for Landrover meetings. He had been a fan of Landrovers since he was 12 years old when is father owned a Landrover Garage in Angola.  The other friend usually drove his own historic Landrover on long holiday journies, having owned it for 3 years. The last big trip took 3 weeks, and covered 4600 km (2858 Mi) including visits to Asturias, Cantabria, Vizcaya , Pyrénées, Andorra and French Riviera. As a result of that conversation, an idea arose to fulfil a mutual dream, and visit the the Landrover Enthusiasts Show for vehicles over 25 years old. The journey will be 5000 km (3100 Mi) long and take only 15 days, 3 days to be spent in Billing.  We really wanted to go, the cost was a bit high, but support started to appear. We contacted the event organisers several times. French, English and Portuguese magazines have agreed to publicize the journey, although we are still awaiting sponsorship for our vehicles.  We presented the idea of our big adventure in public for the first time at the Rates Billing meeting on 12 of June (www.rates-billing.com). We discussed our plan with many curious and interested people, exchanging ideas and experiences. We have also arranged to meet up with some people from Portugal who will fly to England and attend the show in Billing.  As well as making some last minute repairs to our cars, we also had the opportunity to talk to some of our sponsors about the journey, which was of great benefit to everyone involved.  We received lots of support and good wishes from the journey from all the people at the meeting. 18-07-2004: Com muita pena nossa deixamos o billing às 19 horas em direcção a Dover, onde nos esperava um barco para atravessar para Calais à 1:00.

A avaria da bateria deve-se, ao que pensamos, a um fio partido. Neste momento estamos a trocar as baterias dos "lands" uma vez que um deles não a carrega.

Após várias peripécias, estamos a bordo do ferry a caminho de UK. Chegamos ao porto de Havre com honras do chefe do porto de mar de Caen.
